Drum Classes
Mandjou is a patient and skilled instructor who loves teaching beginning and advanced students alike. He will take you to the next level in your drumming!
Singing Classes
Mandjou is a griot (praise singer). In Guinea, he was constantly asked to perform at ceremonies and celebrations because he has a "voice of gold." In the United States, you can study traditional songs of Guinea with him.
Gongoma Classes
Playing gongoma (a calabash with melodic keys) is a common tradition in Guinea, but is little known here in the U.S. Try it out with Mandjou.
Professional Consultation for Your Performing Group
Mandjou grew up in the ballets of Conakry and has headed several different performing groups in Guinea and in the United States. Take advantage of his skills and experience by having him help your group's music, choreography, and staging. He can guide your existing program and/or give you new material.
Study Tour to Guinea
Mark your calendars for December of 2011! Mandjou will take drum and dance students to Guinea, West Africa for two to three weeks of intense study and lots of fun.
Workshops
Mandjou loves to share his knowledge of Guinean music and culture. He is available to travel to your area to teach djembe, doundoun, and song.
Artist-in-Residencies
Growing up surrounded by great artists helped Mandjou understand the importance of the arts in the lives of young people. He experienced first-hand the value of passing on traditional music and culture to children and would love to share his knowledge of Guinean music and culture with students at your school.
Performances
Want something new and different for your next event? Have Limanya Drum and Dance Ensemble give you a taste of Guinean drum, dance, and song! Kikeh Mato provides contemporary African music which will make your event stand out, and all of your attendees dance, dance, dance!
