Mandjou Mara is a master djembe player and griot (praise singer) from Guinea, West Africa who moved to Madison, WI in 2008.

Wongai Africa, LLC is an organization devoted to celebrating the rich music and dance culture of Guinea, West Africa through education and performance.

Wongai Africa, LLC offers:

Limanya Drum and Dance Ensemble, directed by Mandjou Mara, which showcases traditional Guinean music and dance.

Kikeh Mato,  Mandjou's Afro-Pop band.  This contemporary African music will make you dance, dance, dance!

Educational opportunities for all ages including classes, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and residencies in traditional Guinean drumming, dancing, gongoma, singing, and performance. See the services page for more information.
